A pilot project on judicial training, set to get under way in 2012, should have as its aim to identify best practices in organising access to EU law and relevant training and to disseminate them in the member states, says the European Parliament in a resolution adopted in plenary, on 14 March in Strasbourg. The resolution came in the wake of an oral question addressed to the European Commission by Klaus-Heiner Lehne (EPP, Germany) and Juan Fernando López Aguilar (S&D, Spain), on 12 March, on how the executive plans to ensure that at least half of EU legal professionals obtain training in EU law by 2020. This target was proposed in a September 2011 communication on European judicial training(1).
